This medicine is for oral use only. Swallow this medication as a whole with water. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take this medication at a fixed time each day if it is indicated for everyday use.

 

—Precautionary Steps of Norvasc 5mg Tablet—

Before taking Norvasc, please refer to the doctor’s advice especially if you have any of the following illnesses. Contraindicated disease:
-Allergies to Norvasc or any other of its ingredients
-Liver disease
-Heart disease
-It is not recommended for use by babies. Please keep it away from them.
-Hypersensitivity
-Breastfeeding
-Pregnancy
Please stop taking the medication if you have the following symptoms.
Reaction between Norvasc medicine:
Reaction varies by individual. You are encouraged to ask your doctor about the possibility of reactions between the medicines before taking them.

  • Simvastatin
  • Clarithromycin
  • Ketoconazole

Alcohol Warning( Not Advisable )
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Norvasc 5mg Tablet. Taking Norvasc 5mg Tablet with alcohol may worsen the side effects of Norvasc 5mg Tablet such as headache, dizziness and visual disturbance. Furthermore, Norvasc 5mg Tablet is metabolised in the liver and alcohol consumption leads to a risk of liver damage.

 

Pregnancy Warning (Not Safe)
Norvasc 5mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the fetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits of using Norvasc 5mg Tablet among pregnant women outweigh the risks. Please consult your doctor.

 

Breastfeeding Warning ( Limited Data )
Norvasc 5mg Tablet is reported to be excreted into breast milk. However, the effect of the exposure towards the babies remains unknown. There is also stated that no side effects were reported with the exposure. Please consult your doctor for further details.

 

Driving Warning ( Not Advisable )
Do not drive unless you are feeling well. Norvasc 5mg Tablet may cause side effects such as dizziness headache, tiredness or nausea, all of which could affect the ability to concentrate and drive.

 

Kidney Warning ( Use With Care )
Norvasc 5mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Norvasc 5mg Tablet is mostly excreted via urine. Thus, dose adjustment of Norvasc 5mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

 

Liver Warning ( Use With Care )
The liver disease should use Norvasc 5mg Tablet with caution. It is extensively metabolised in the liver. Extensive use of Norvasc 5mg Tablet also increases the liver enzyme. Dose adjustment of Norvasc 5mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
